Wandering Crusader #279 God Doesn’t Care

Peter says the scriptures were written by holy men of God as they were moved by the holy ghost. Every Christian church agrees and lists divine inspiration and inerrancy of the scriptures as an article of faith. They believe it until living it gets in the way. I offer the practical application of the above verses as proof.

I have yet to meet a Christian who will not tell me to cast my cares on the Lord. They say I can do that with confidence because God cares for me. I find that difficult to believe when there is so much that God doesn’t care about. Go into any church today and you will discover a long list of things Christians profess that God doesn’t care about.

The common thread I find among those who say such things is that they have never seriously asked God. They consider their own judgment about such “minor” details is good enough, God need not be bothered about little details. Such thinking is a denial of the truth of scripture. I’ve heard countless times that there is nothing too big for God. How is it we believe there are things too small for God?

There used to be an oft repeated phrase among Christians that went, “Jesus is Lord of all, or He is not Lord at all.” It’s no longer in vogue, but that doesn’t diminish the truth of it. Jesus doesn’t want parts of you that you wish to give. He wants all of you down to the minutest of details. His care for you goes soul deep.

“The first of all the commandments is, Hear O Israel; the Lord our Lord is one Lord, And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength…  Until you live to keep the first commandment, the rest is moot. A loving relationship does not take the object of one’s love for granted. How can a person love God and still believe God doesn’t care? The answer is simple; you can’t.

Maybe it’s time for His people and His Church to start making Him King in more than words.  And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
